El Norte de Castilla
El Norte de Castilla, founded on 17 October 1856, is the oldest newspaper in Spain, with over 150 years of history, and is the readership leader in Castilla y León. In 1994 it joined Grupo Correo and currently has market share in readership and circulation of 21% and 17% respectively, according to data from the EGM* and OJD**.
The newspaper is an icon in Castilla y León. To cover all the region, it has a wide network of editors and contributors, and publishes five editions in Valladolid, Palencia, Zamora, Segovia, and a regional edition for Castilla y León. It also publishes supplements such as La Hemeroteca, Deporte Base, Money and Employment and El Norte Universidad. The newspaper completes its multimedia positioning with a local portal and a radio broadcaster.
