El Comercio
El Comercio was born on 2 September 1878 and in 1995 acquired La Voz de Avilés and joined Grupo Correo. El Comercio is the most read daily in Gijón and the second most read newspaper in the Principality of Asturias, with market shares in readership and circulation of 23% and 23% respectively, according to data from the EGM* and OJD**.
The newspaper publishes a special edition in Avilés called La Voz de Avilés-El Comercio, and three other editions known as General, Asturias and Oriente. El Comercio reinforces its offer by publishing supplements to meet the information needs of its readers, such as the Sunday supplement Money and Employment, and others. The newspaper completes its multimedia positioning with a local portal, a television station and a radio broadcaster.
