NET TV requests authorisation from the Ministry of Industry to broadcast in Pay TV format

Madrid, 26 June 2009.- NET TV has requested approval from the Secretariat of State for Telecommunications and the Information Society, part of the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, and Trade, to be able to broadcast fully or partly in a Pay TV format the Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) channels that Net TV operates as a concession.

Sociedad Gestora de Televisión Net TV S.A. was awarded one of the digital terrestrial television concessions allocated by the Government in 2001. It is owned by three media companies: Vocento, Intereconom?and Walt Disney Iberia, and Vocento is the majority shareholder.

NetTV is an active participant in Impulsa, the Association for the Development of DTT, whose other members are TVE, Antena 3, Telecinco, Cuatro, La Sexta, Veo TV, Abertis and la Forta, and whose main purpose is to cooperate in planning actions that will lead to the analogue switch-off in the spring of 2010, jointly with other private and public sector players.
