Luis Enríquez, new Chief Executive Officer of Vocento

Madrid, 18 July 2011.- The Board of Directors of Vocento has appointed Luis Enríquez as the new Chief Executive Officer of the group. Luis Enríquez joins the group from Unidad Editorial, the publisher of the El Mundo newspaper, where he held the position of director general.

Enríquez will assume the main executive role at Vocento, two weeks after the resignation of José Manuel Vargas.

Luis Enríquez, who is 39 years old, is a graduate in Business and Economics from the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas, and in 2000 joined Unidad Editorial, where he has held various positions. He was responsible for the centralisation of the regional editions and for the distribution and marketing policy of the company, and as director general he assumed responsibility for the three main titles of the group; El Mundo, Marca and Expansión.

Among his main professional achievements, he was a leading driving force behind the development and launch of Orbyt, the digital platform of Unidad Editorial for paid content. His experience in the application of new technologies in the media business, and his deep understanding of the sector, will enable Vocento to intensify its strategy of transforming and repositioning the group in all its business areas, while renewing and strengthening its editorial and news offering, as the habits of consumers and readers change and demand a revolution from media companies in their content, media vehicles, and business models.

As the leading media group in Spain, Vocento believes that the incorporation of Luis Enríquez, with his proven experience in the sector, will ensure the success of the group's plans for the future.
