La 10 and MTV to broadcast free-to-air and nationwide on NET TV

  • The two channels join Disney Channel and Intereconomía


Madrid, 22 July 2010.- NET TV, the digital television broadcaster headed by Vocento, will have two new channels from September: La 10, which will now have nationwide coverage; and MTV, which is one of the most popular channels for youth audiences across the world, and which for the first time in Spain will be available on free-to-air television. These two channels join Disney Channel and Intereconomía on NET TV.

La 10 is going nationwide following the warm reception that its programming has enjoyed and thanks to the strength of its brand, which will now be present in households across Spain, providing general and family television content, including current affairs, entertainment, drama, culture, and political debates.

Journalist Curri Valenzuela is joining La 10 with a programme of political analysis and debate, taking her place beside the station's other well known presenters: María Teresa Campos and Ángel Expósito.

For its part, MTV, thanks to the strategic agreement between Vocento and
Viacom (the owner of MTV, Nickelodeon, Paramount Comedy, VH1, Comedy Central and Spike), will for the first time be accessible on free-to-air television in Spain, on NET TV. For ten years, in its media content and events, MTV has had its finger on the pulse of Spanish youth. The programming of the channel will remain committed to youth entertainment, with exclusive series that reflect MTV's values of being edgy, optimistic and fun, as well as in-house productions, music, and the broadcasting of the station's international events.
