ABC was founded on 1st January 1903 as a weekly illustrated magazine; it became a newspaper in 1905. It was considered an innovative addition to the newspaper scene of the early 20th century, because of its name, its format and, particularly because of its extensive use of pictures.
ABC has always stood out for its clear, distinguishing features, which make it one of Spain's leading newspapers and an essential political, intellectual and cultural reference with a strong presence in society.
ABC's commitment is based on quality, rigour, accuracy and analysis. The combination of these factors allows it to offer products that still receive the support of its readers one century on.
In its efforts to extend its products, ABC also publishes ABCD las Artes y las Letras, a project exclusively dedicated to the world of books, theatre, plastic arts, architecture, design, films, music and any other artistic manifestations that take place in and around us.
