Alvaro Pombo, Francisco Nieva or Eugenio Trias are some of the recent winners of this award, which is given for work that disseminates cultural, civic, ethical and democratic values in the Basque Country.
The €15,000 prize was awarded for the first time in 1987 and it is considered one of the most outstanding prizes in Spanish journalism.
